The northbound carriageway of the A12 is blocked after an army truck collided with a car.
The accident happened near Hatfield Peverel at around 12.30pm this afternoon.
Emergency services are at the scene, including the East of England Ambulance.
The incident is between junction 19 of the Boreham Interchange and junction 20 at Hatfield Peverel.
The northbound lane of the A12 is closed while the accident is cleared.
