Stansted Airport saw an extra 200,000 passengers pass through its terminal last month, making it the airport's busiest June since 2008.
June saw an increase of 11 per cent compared with the same month last year and a total of more than two million passengers.
The total amount of holiday-makers flying from Stansted in the year rose to 21.5 million, an increase of 16.5 per cent over the previous 12 months, the highest annual rate of growth of any major UK airport.
