Planes flying in and out of Stansted Airport could fly less frequently and at a higher altitude above Essex, under plans to modernise London flight routes.
Air traffic control bosses are currently seeking opinion on a proposal to double the amount of daytime planes departing via land east of the airport, flying over Kelvedon and Great Dunmow.
In turn this would halve the number departing in the daytime to the south of the airport.
