A DRIVER was killed after becoming trapped in his Corvette that burst into flames following a head on crash on Essex Regiment Way this afternoon.
At about 3pm the Chevrolet Corvette and a Vauxhall Astra were involved in a head-on crash on Essex Regiment Way, between Wheelers Hill and the Braintree road.
The Corvette caught alight and the driver, believed to be a man in his 60s from Chelmsford, was trapped inside, and as a result he died.
