AN Essex pensioner was killed by a freak wave whilst aboard a cruise ship in the English Channel off the coast of Cornwall.
James Swinstead, 85, of Colchester, was killed when a huge wave crashed through a window on cruise ship, Marco Polo, during severe storms on Friday.
The cruise ship, operated by Cruise and Maritime Voyages - which operates out of the Port of Tilbury – was carrying 735 passengers, most of whom were British.
