Motorists are being advised to find alternative routes into Essex while fire crews battle a blazing lorry on the A12.
Crews rushed to the HGV trailer, which was carrying plastic milk bottles, in the hard shoulder of the A12 between junction 12 at Mountnessing and junction 11 with the M25.
Black smoke is billowing across the roads. Carriagways in both directions between the two junctions are closed.
Noboday has been reported injured.
As of 9.23am, all lanes on the A12 have been reopened
