The driver of a lorry which crashed on the A12 this morning forcing drivers to take a 23 mile diversion has been arrested.

The incident occurred at about 1am when the 44-ton articulated lorry, which was carrying 27 tons of citrus fruit, went out of control on the southbound carriageway near Marks Tey, crossing the central reservation and overturning, blocking the northbound lanes.
